Senior shoot – Andrew
by admin on Jul.21, 2009, under Seniors
I photographed this senior yesterday. Andrew and his parent did not have any specific thoughts on shots they wanted and asked for me to do what I like. It doesn’t get much better than that for a photographer! I wanted to play with big strobes, so choose to shoot at our home in Clarkston. We started with natural light behind the barn. The sky was overcast and flat so I added a silver reflector. We then went to the red barn down the road. I treid using a Nikon flash to add some interest and found there was just enough light to make a difference. Thanks to www.strobist.com for inspiration.
We ended up at a field next to our property. I was able to stretch a couple extension cords and used the Alien Bees 1800 at about half power as the key light.
Chose to use a warm B&W and contrasty desaturation for the the majority of the processing.
Andrew was a very good model and has a great serious look, very majestic.
